SEB
Hi all, I accidentally created a new wallet rather than importing my existing one and now I can't swap them over its giving me the following message: Phone number does not match with imported wallet. Is there anyway to unlink the phone and wallet for a different wallet? I know very stupid any help would be welcome( tried messaging the support but I get no response) Thanks
noise
Same thing happened to me too,no reply from the help chat, kinda loose my faith in this. Also, What I noticed is that there are lots of fees and basically you split the money between you and all additional services you need to access in order to buy/sell EGLD
SEB
Hi noise, I found the following: There are multiple scenarios, please carefully select the one that fits your situation. ✅ No wallet is associated with your phone number hash - You CAN import a wallet ✅ An automatically created wallet was associated with your phone number, but the account WAS NOT BACKED UP (either iCloud / Google Drive, or manual backup) - you CAN import another wallet ❌ An automatically created wallet was associated with your phone number, AND the account WAS BACKED UP (iCloud or Google Drive) - you CAN NOT import another wallet ❌ You imported a wallet you created before into a first-time install - you CAN NOT import another wallet. Imported wallets into first-time installs are automatically marked as “backed up” because you have proven already that you can restore it from a back-up. Reasoning: Wallets that are not backed up are not considered safe to be used, and therefore are not permanently associated with a phone number’s hash. This means the user’s contacts can’t see the user as a Maiar, and can’t (using the contact list) send money to them. This is a protection measure to avoid sending funds to a wallet that is not backed up, therefore avoiding possible loss of funds. Once a phone number hash is associated with an address, that is permanent and can’t be changed. The user is also seen as a Maiar by their contacts. This can be toggled off from the Privacy Settings. My solution: The only solution I came up with is to transfer everything across to the new wallet you have created. ( The issue arises for me is that I have staked money in the other wallet so if I move it I loose my position in the queue -_-) I guess I'm stuck using 2 wallets if I want to use the app - unless you change phone numbers. Thanks Seb

Thanks Seb Hi, nice findings :). We are working on a feature to unlink the phone number from a wallet, so you will be able to use the same phone number with another wallet if you want. One of the next release will have this.

ilcod000
I have the same issue with the last update of maiar (andr oid app). What should I do ?
zoowee
Same for me. How scary! no help , no answer!
ilcod000
I already solve that issue. 1. from the web wallet send coins to phone maiar wallet (there are 2 different walets). Now on the web wallet there are no coins. Assuming that you create a new maiar wallet without import 2. Acces web wallet and there push Recover wallet (and now complete the 24 word) and voila , you can acces you wallet from maiar and from the web Let me know if you succeeded ! ilcod000
Shortly, if we cannot import web walltet to maiar wallet , then we import maiar wallet to web wallet
Paul
Hey, guys ! thank you for answering Got another question on this. If your 24 work phrase comes from a wallet created via maiar or elrond web wallet, that I guess it's fine. But what if we got a web wallet created via a ledger ? we're not really supposed to enter ledger's 24 work phrase anywhere. How can we connect this web wallet created via a ledger, to maiar, without violating ledger's 24 work phrase security policy? Thank you very much,

Any news on when this will be rolled out? This is the single most important feature that is keeping me from re-installing Maiar. I have all my eGold in Elrond Wallet, most of it delegated + some spare change. I don't need the wallet in Maiar, so I see no use for the app. I want to use the same one on both apps. Keep things nice and simple. Thank you!
Andres
I'm in the second case, no backup on google drive, but i can't import another wallet in my phone "phone number does not match.." The old wallet installed on this phone was empty, no backup done, and i didn't store the phrase because i only wanted to delete it. Now i'm using my real wallet on web app, and i can't manage it on my phone with maiar How can i unlink the old wallet without recovery it first?, I think ineed the "unlink" option is enabled "before" import/create a wallet. Ludovic
I have the same problem. We need to unlink the number before import/create a wallet.
Nicu
